Trying to understand complex subjects… one failure at a time.

Things have sped up and slowed down simultaneously.

Homeschooling has begun speeding up along with the need to restrict all unnecessary spending.

The apartment is being sorted, organized, cleaned, patched, and painted all at once. I’m moving through rooms and finishing them up one-by-one to make the move easier in the end.

Tonight is all about getting organized and plan the weekly schedule. It’s been a very helpful tool for me thus far. It’s annoying to sit still long enough to get everything together, but worth it in the end.

I’m working on the vocals for a cover of Sleep Token’s Levitate. I’m doing several takes of each line. It’s going pretty well. It makes sense why people record songs this way… better, results from repetition.

I’ve recorded Levitate a few times while practicing it. I’ve used it as one of my daily warm-up songs for about 8 months. The way I sing it has changed drastically.

I’ll be sharing (and have been sharing) song lyric and poem rejects that don’t fit into the album(s) structure or narratives. Also, I’ve over-written!

A lot of what was written, my mind and voice are interpreting as hip-hop/rap. It’ll be interesting to see if I can extract melodies outside of the hooks and choruses?

Videos are still being recorded several times a week for updates on projects.

I use the free version of the Sonofield Ear Training App almost every day on the “free play” setting for an average of 5 to 20 minutes. Nope, I have NOT followed Max’s courses yet. I’m trying to find my own way. If I get lost, he has a lot of helpful resources.

What I’ve noticed about the Sonofield Ear Training App is, as I record sample melodies, when I listen back I can hear where other elements are needed and can identify where the notes are on the app’s interface. I like that it’s simple and easy to use. It’s very useful. I highly recommend the app.

Everyday more is added to the Music & Words classroom, but it is not ready to be shared. There are still missing elements in classes that need edited or recorded.

Well, other than that… I have about a zillion other things up in the air. I’m letting non-essential things fall. I’m tired of juggling what isn’t mine. I can’t do it anymore; who says I have too? If it doesn’t fit into my 3 priorities, I have to let it go.

It feels nice to simplify life by releasing the clutter that was never needed.

Hope all is well in your worlds. Thanks for reading.

Take care.

*sorry, posted before editing… 😱 it will probably stay this way for a minute.
