Strange visitor, this time of year.

It is frigid cold up here in the northern part of northern New England. This guy’s hanging out on my curtains. How it got in, who knows? Where there’s a will, there’s a way. We’re under a cold weather warning. The wind-chill is supposed to be 25-35 below tonight. I’ll let it stay until the cats get it.

Probably got in before it went cold and recently hatched or whatever they do. We get them too and I’m certain that the -20°F temps are not something they would try to navigate.

    Just a guess.

Yeah, that was my guess too. I figured it got cold and came through the basement floorboards or walls.

But… Several of us (cousins) tend to think our great grandma is saying, “calm down. It’ll be okay.” She loved ladybugs and they always have a way of visiting at strangest of times. Like when we’re sad, alone and crying but need to be brave… Or on an aircraft carrier, or sleeping in a car, or having an emergency C-section on the fourth floor of a hospital when it’s cold outside. Ladybugs our a totem in our extended family. Does it mean anything really? Probably not… But the mind-trick does provide a little comfort when there’s nobody around to talk to.
