Strange sounds in a rain storm

This recording may have the rare sounds of the atmosphere changing rapidly, but resembles growling in it. It wasn’t thunder. The reverb is up for better tone. I have no clue what the noises actually are, I’ll stick with science. Atmosphere anomaly. Or thunder from lightning I couldn’t see. Or… my ears and mic were acting strange at the same time? Perhaps an audio hallucination? 🤷‍♀️

Weird noises at: 0:24-28, 0:54-59, 1:15-18, 1:35-39, 1:45-55, 1:59-2:03, 2:05-2:16, and other spots. Two recordings are placed one after the other. The noise is present in both and it was coming from outside, all around. (NOT traffic or a train).

By coincidence, I’ve heard something similar once before. I was standing outside of my Mom and Step Dad’s in Mass having a cigarette. I didn’t have a recorder with me to capture the sound. It was right before the big earthquake and tsunami at Fukushima.
