during my free time. I also adjusted the timing of each recording and made other adjustments. So far, I like them! I’m limited in what I can create, because I’m still very dumb. But… allowing myself to actually work with the materials and resources around me and with what I know is quite fun.
I’m using a project outline, but it’s flexible. Also, the main narrative arc is being flushed out as I build the storytelling around it. It’s interesting to see how recording soundscapes is similar to other art forms; it’s done in layers. It’s like painting with sound.
Three songs off this album are garbage. I’m restarting on them tomorrow. Tonight, the lyrics for songs 6 & 7 are being revised. They’re love songs but are still too corny. They make me gag a little bit each time I read them. I will have the most difficulty singing those ones. 😁Unfortunately, that’s how I’ll be able to adjust the phrasing better. Well… also by using a dictionary and thesaurus, but simple is often best.
I’m looking forward to creating sounds for the lighter atmospheres. Today’s output has an intense and eerie vibe. I strayed a little from the songs I’m drafting to write lyrics for one of the later narrative arcs. Inspiration struck and kept returning more refined, so I took the time to capture its essence.
