I was going to make cabbage rolls but… I ended up taking the easy route. Instead I made a simple but healthy dish that’s good when the weather is cold.
The ingredients are whole and natural. It contains protein, fruit (tomatoes), veggies, and carbs. Serve it with a glass of whole milk and it’s a completely balanced meal.
Ground beef
Cabbage cubed into squares
Tomato paste
Diced or stewed tomatoes
Diced onion
Diced carrots
Salt, pepper, garlic, onion, basil, oregano
Broth or water
Dash of the sweetener of choice (mine is agave)
Diced potatoes (keep the skin on, it’s a good source of iron)
A splash of red wine, if you’re daring
Add all of the ingredients except the potatoes (keep those out).

Let the ingredients cook on a low-medium heat with the lid on. Stir the contents when the meat begins to brown. Break apart the meat (but not too much).

Add the potatoes. Let cook on low with the lid on until everything is tender. Stir and serve. Eat.
