Trying to understand complex subjects… one failure at a time.

Daily writing prompt
Can you share a positive example of where you’ve felt loved?

amphibians, specifically frogs and toads, were dropping in vast numbers each year. My friend (and neighbor) and I were walking home through a large field and discovered a number of toad eggs. They were in a puddle that was drying fast in the sun.

We ran home and started grabbing all of the buckets we could find. We brought all of the eggs to my front yard. My parents asked what we were doing. My dad, mom, and my friend’s dad helped us gather the things we needed to save the toads. HUGE rubber watering troughs!

Oh gosh… from our front yard that summer, we had hundreds, possibly thousands of toads bubbling from huge black tubs. No wonder everyone freaked out when I turned to Christian Wicca. I had a trail of toads leading from my parent’s rental home. 🤨

The next summer… I was looking forward to raising more toads. But… the town (and my parents) offered to send me and a friend to a LONG science camp (at a university,) on scholarship.😁 Who knows if those things were connected? In retrospect… it makes me wonder.
